Time to shut down #3 & #5 for a while?

Lately there has been far too much drama on the Sandbox RP servers and it's getting too much to handle. I am hearing issues about abusive moderators and abusive admins and now we have to review who we are going to keep.

The players have been getting pretty disrespectful and my Staff apparently do not know how to control them. The website is a resource to help us better manage the servers.. not a place to argue about bans.

A lot of people post their input on ban appeals when they have no business even posting, and mostly it's useless information that is an opinion and of no relevance to anything. If you all haven't noticed your posts may be missing or disappeared.. that was me deleting them because they had no reason to be made.

We split Sandbox RP into two servers because 24 slots on one server was far too much load, now that it's split.. the issues appear to be far worse. We have plenty of moderators and admins but no one wants to step up and do it properly causing our users to feel as if they were violated.

I give you all tools like ragdoll for fun events, not to be done to people that are breaking the rules. If you cannot handle being mature and responsible you will be demoted.

The goal as a moderator is to log onto the server and play as you normally would, if a problem comes up kick/ban the person as quick as possible to prevent the server from being harmed. You are not the 'Police' nor a 'Security Guard'.. you are a player who has extra access to resolve problems immediately. You are all hand picked by me because you have proven you have the maturity and responsibility but right now I'm not impressed.

Right now I am unable to work on anything else because of the constant drama on these two servers. Maybe making them go offline will make most of you realize how good you really have it here and maybe straighten up. I can guarantee you will not EVER find another Sandbox RP server that allows kids to play on and help protect them from jerks and bad people who don't belong.

In closing I would appreciate it if you DONT SPAM ME OR MY STAFF ON STEAM regarding this issue because it's only going to make me more upset. I have already begun blocking people that do nothing but tell every little issue that happens, I'm not here 24/7. If you spam my admins/moderators be warned that they will block you on steam as well and if it's bad enough you may get banned from the website or servers.

I have a full time job 5 days a week and cannot always be here to kick/ban people that breaking the rules.

If you come back on the server and are no longer a moderator, you are going to have to accept it and learn from this experience. Moderator is a TRIAL ranking, you are at the mercy of your actions and how you represent our servers.. if you cannot prove you can do this position you will be demoted to a previous ranking.

I am posting this publicly because my staff does not read the posts in our Moderator Area, and showing everyone that I'm attempting to straighten up my moderators in the event I do decide to take the servers offline for a determined amount of time. Maybe putting them on blast will make them realize that TBB takes being a moderator very seriously to protect our community.

If I do decide to shut down the servers, there will be a notification on the website. If I do decide to remove abusive moderators and admins there will be no notification except maybe a PM on the website pointed at you to let you know. It's getting real now guys, step up and prove to us that you can handle the situations that arise and be a good role model.
 

Indeed, it is getting very out of hand, but in all respect, it wouldn't be a very good idea to shut down the servers.
Server 3 and 5 have been a very, very large chunk of this server's traffic, and shutting them down may turn TBB servers into a place where people very rarely visit. We need another way to stop all the bull happening.
 
I have also been seeing alot of this drama as well as many others.. i think its a good idea and i respect xeron for doing this as it must be hard.. but people need to learn.
 
i gonna agree about what umpy said and we are going to have to do to get the severs and staff straight. we cant have admins that dont and abuse the rank. im am gonna respect what xer0ns does even if we have to temporarily take down the severs.
 
My oh my. Well, if they are down a bit, at least I could work on that hour long storm chasing film. Also yeah, I wanna keep the servers safe.
 
1. It's OK if you shut down the servers for a bit, but it might affect the traffic of the servers, since the players who aren't connected to the forums might not know about the situation, unless you advertise about it on the server a few days because the temporary shutdown.

2. I'm OK with the shutdown as long as it isn't a real long time (example: 3+ weeks), I might as well get back to fly and drive temporarily (saying this in a positive mood, not sighing).

I strongly disagree, we get nearly 3000 hits per month globally and I'm not concerned about the player traffic. If I cannot find decent staff to help run the servers, it's almost better shutting them down for a while versus having them being abused.

We have a large enough player base and members that participate in activities OTHER THAN Garry's Mod. We run various other game servers that are much more manageable. As I stated above; people don't realize how good something is until it's gone. This is not a threat of the servers going down, this is my attempt to get everyone on the same page as to what the moderators are required to do and how their attitudes reflect on the players.

Bans are Bans, if people come on the Forum and start spamming and being rude/disrespectful.. lock the topic and inform a Website Admin to have their access revoked. Opinions are not allowed in ban appeal threads, it's to state the facts and determine if a person deserves a second chance.
 
Understood, Xer0n. If the servers do shut down for a bit, i'll watch for ragers coming here doing nasty things, then i'll have somewhere else to moderate. (Unless there are young kids that come and cry, dunno what should happen)
 
I cannot believe it has got to this point again. It is sad to see so much trouble and drama always being created between Server 3 and 5. If I am not mistaken this is not the first time an incident like this has happened. I fully agree with Xer0n_ on this decision and if it does get to much to handle it should be shut down temporarily.
 
[member=619]Umpypinky[/member] I very strongly agree Xer0n is the founder off TBB ,we need to let him up to this.It is a very hard decision , those servers are very amazing but high level admins/the owner I am going to leave this where it is.
